Yet another Upper Respiratory Inflammation, o joy.

Correcting exams all afternoon (unable to work for several reasons, one of which See URI above); amazing range of Students Who Get It and Students Who Don't. Realize that the expedition to New Orleans for the Tennessee Williams Festival is in less than three weeks... which means, almost certainly, flying with URI, above. (Thank God for pressure-equalizing earplugs!) (A cold will generally run me 10 weeks). I know I should go fluff up my lecture notes on Two Guys Named J.C. (Julius Caesar and Jesus Christ) but I just can't face explaining Middle Eastern religio-politics in the First Century BC/AD at the moment. Can I just go take a nap?

Awww! Regarding the cold -- try Chromium picolinate. It seems to boost the immune system and shorten flu/cold duration.

We found out about this suppliment when our dog was diagnosed with an enlarged esophagus. She had already begun to develop pneumonia --they aspirate fluid into the lungs and usually die of pneumonia very quickly.

A health friend of ours suggested that we try chromium picolinate on her, which we did, and vet was amazed -- the pneumonia cleared up. She lived long enough to die of old-age complications. The vet had been certain she would die within weeks at best.

We've also used it on ourselves for colds/flus, and have suggested it to other friends. It seems to works wonders. We tend to take it four times a day, until the flu/cold is fully gone.

Feel better.

depends. There's lots of inflammatory material out there on those folks already. If you want to use it there should be plenty of naptime....
:)
But I think middle eastern religio-politics in the 1st century BCE is very entertaining - of course, rabbis view that period somewhat differently from non-Jewish folks.

Naps are good things. For the past decade, I have been subject to lung crud that devolves into bronchitis if I don't deal with it pronto. Hands down, the best treatment is bed rest. And sleep as much as I can. Hope this works as well for you.

My favorite folk remedy for cold symptoms-
1 part lemon juice
1 part water
1 part honey
1 whole clove garlic,
and if you can find it, a bag of throat coat tea with slippery elm. Slippery elm really really helps your throat.
Anyway, boil it all together, drink it, it actually does make one feel a little better.
